Giving Thanks for Sacrifice

Today is Veterans' Day in the United States, and we take this day to thank all the military veterans who have sacrificed for our country. Yesterday the Marine Corps celebrated it's 240th birthday, and we thank it's service members for their sacrifice. Over the history of our nation, millions of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines have laid down their lives to protect our nation, as well as the people of the world the United States assists.

There are not words enough to describe the thanks that these military men and women deserve, and usually do not receive. While many people take this day to thank a vet, consider placing a flag or flowers on a grave to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. They deserve to be honored and respected, and honoring a fallen veteran also shows honor to the families who are left behind.

I've posted this song before, but this song always reminds me of the sacrifices of our military to fight in our most recent war, the war on terror.
