Comfort in Despair

Recently I began exploring the music I used to listen to a lot. Seven years ago I got religion and got rid of a lot of music, some of which meant a lot to me and I identified with very strongly. One of them was this song by Marilyn Manson. If you don't wish to listen to the song, the lyrics are below, but it is a lyrics only video.

This song was how I felt about myself throughout my major breakdown and through the smaller ones that happened off and on for many years. I still feel this way about my illness sometimes, and I'd like to buy this album again just to have this song. Listening to it got me through a lot of rough times, and I still love this song.

Coma White

There's something cold and blank behind her smile
She's standing on an overpass
In her miracle mile
"You were from a perfect world
A world that threw me away today
Today to run away"

A pill to make you numb
A pill to make you dumb
A pill to make you anybody else
But all the drugs in this world
Won't save her from herself

Her mouth was an empty cut
And she was waiting to fall
Just bleeding like a Polaroid
That lost all her dolls
"You were from a perfect world
A world that threw me away today
Today to run away"

A pill to make you numb
A pill to make you dumb
A pill to make you anybody else
But all the drugs in this world
Won't save her from herself

A pill to make you numb
A pill to make you dumb
A pill to make you anybody else
But all the drugs in this world
Won't save her from herself

"You were from a perfect world
A world that threw me away today
Today to run away"

A pill to make you numb
A pill to make you dumb
A pill to make you anybody else
But all the drugs in this world
Won't save her from herself
