Blog News

My headaches are improving thanks to a preventive medication my PCP prescribed. I'm still getting headaches, but it's once or twice a week now instead of nearly every day. I'm able to sit with lights on, though I'm still somewhat light sensitive. I think some of it might be because I got used to sitting in the dark for so long.

I saw the eye doctor to get new glasses, and the ones I picked out are super cute. With the imaging of my retina and the doctor's examination, they determined that there's no evidence of anything wrong with my eyes that could be causing the headaches. That's excellent news. The next step is seeing a neurologist, and I have an appointment... in August. First available according to the scheduler. Hopefully, the headaches will resolve themselves far before then, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I've started writing a new draft of a long-time project that's had several drafts before this one now that I can spend more time on the computer. I'm sincerely hoping this will be the last draft and I can have this critiqued and submit it for publishing. Cross my fingers. But I'm having fun, and it's coming along both fast and nicely on days where I have no headache. I'm about halfway through the novel.

Because my headaches have lessened considerably, so has my reading rate because I'm not stuck in the dark with nothing else to do. I'm still reading a lot, just not nearly as much. Starting next week, I'll be dropping back down to two book reviews per week instead of four, and I'm going to pick up a new weekly post: interesting things I find on the internet. Hopefully, I'll have something good for you each week. I already have a couple of things in mind.

I've also added a couple of new tabs to the top of the blog homepage—one dedicated to music on the blog and the other to my ever-developing, massive knitting/crochet project I undertook a year ago.

Meanwhile, here's a video of the beautiful sound of Tibetan Singing Bowls.
