Elizabeth and Darcy in the Movies

After finishing Pride & Prejudice recently, I stumbled across this video comparing film versions of the story to the novel. It compares four versions of the novel: adaptations from 1940, 1980, 1995, and 2005.

I have only seen the 1995 and 2005 versions. I'm interested in watching the miniseries from 1980 that's discussed in the video. I'll have to see if my library has it. There are several modernized tales or parodies I've seen that I enjoyed, like Lost In Austen and Austenland, which is based on a book that I also read.

Pride & Prejudice is one of the greatest novels in the English language, so faithful adaptations will make for excellent viewing, as you can see in this video. I can never get enough of Miss Austen's work, and will continue to re-watch and reread her stories for the rest of my life.
