Songs of the Heart

My favorite album of all time is not by an artist I would define as a favorite. The album speaks to me on a deeper level, and I love it. It seems to capture raw emotions in a manner that lets them be expressed rather than flung into the crowd. He sings about different kinds of longing and loneliness as well as knowing the desires of the heart and the peace that comes with it. He sings about these things in an open and honest manner without being showy or attention-grabbing.

This album defined a good portion of my high school years. It came out my freshman year and if it had been on cassette I would have worn it out by graduation.
