Book Review of The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

The Boy Most Likely To is the sequel to a book I reviewed not too long ago, My Life Next Door.

In the tradition of the first book showing how much life can fall apart in a single instant, Tim has been taken in by the Garrets, and supported on his path to recovery. Life is finally getting good. He's been sober for two months. The Garrets are renting him their garage apartment so he can get away from his toxic family and have support nearby. The girl of his dreams, his best friend Jase's older sister Alice, has taken interest.

Alice Garret has always been in control. Her life, her boyfriends... Since Samantha's mom almost killed her dad everything has been out of control. Tim, now living in the garage apartment, is barely sober and seems to screw up everything. He's the last person she should be interested in. But she can't keep away.

Then Tim's drunken and drugged up past comes back to haunt him in a way he never expected, something dropped in his lap that nearly costs him everything he worked so hard for and dreamed for, including his budding relationship with Alice, and changing him in unexpected ways.

Life rarely goes as planned, and things fall apart so easily. Every action has a consequence, maybe good, maybe bad. I love that this book shows what being stupid really can cost you and how bad things can turn into good.

I give this book a:
