Sweet Tea!
One of my favorite drinks is cold sweet tea. It's an American thing, and a staple in the South. I make it differently than Southerners do, though. With a kettle and teapot.
When I drank sweet tea constantly, I used a cheaper tea (Tetley), but my favorite to use is Twinnings' Lady Grey. It's a tea exclusive to Twinnings that has a light, fresh, citrusy taste. I find it extremely relaxing.
Katie's Sweet Tea
Makes two quarts (double for a gallon)
Water
6 bags of tea (or to taste)
1/3 cup of sugar (or to taste)
1) Boil 1 1/2 cups of water in a pot or kettle.
2) Pour boiling water into a teapot with tea bags.
3) Let steep for the time specified by the tea blend (usually found on the box or packet).
4) Pour into pitcher, stir in sugar to melt with hot tea, then fill the rest of the way with cold water.
You can pour this right away over ice or refrigerate until cold. Alternately, this can be made with no sugar, and sweeteners added later if desired.
Enjoy!
