Shades of Violet

I've been dying my hair funky colors for almost two years now. Up until this dye job that happened last weekend, my hair has always been blue, sometimes with a purple underlayer.

For most of that time, I was bleaching my hair for a brighter, stunning effect, which was fantastic, but severely damaged my hair. After a year and a half of bleaching it every other month, the ends were breaking off every time I brushed my hair.

So, I decided to switch to a dye made for brunettes and am letting my hair grow out with its natural color. Because most of my hair is still bleached, the dye is still pretty vibrant, but it's a different color than the dyes I was using before. It washes out of my natural color faster than I'd like, but the dye warns of that.

Nevertheless, I do like dying my hair funky colors. This new dye made for brunettes has a variety of colors including a few different shades of red, purple, and blue along with a green. I don't want to dye my hair green, but I'd like to try all the others.

In light of that, this time when I bought dye, I selected a bright purple. I had to work to get the blue out of my hair and managed to get it to a lighter blue before dying it. The blue combined with the purple turned it into almost an indigo-violet shade that's beautiful on my hair. I love it!

I have a purple scarf, crocheted had with a lot of purple in it, and purple gloves, so I can go all out when I leave the house! I'm excited. Now I just need a purple face mask. I'll have to get some purple yarn. I also have a yellow hat a face mask.

Changing my hair color is refreshing and makes me remember how much fun it is to dye my hair these funky colors.
