Review of Just One Touch (Slow Burn #5) by Maya Banks

Just One Touch is the fifth book in the Slow Burn series.

Jenna has been held captive by a cult and forced to do their bidding since she was sold to them as a young child and they discovered her unique gift. She played a meek, timid woman, biding her time until she could escape.

Isaac, a member of Devereaux Security's team, is shocked to stumble across a woman with no knowledge of the modern world and on the run. With one touch, Isaac knows he must protect her at all costs.

Devereaux Security takes the case to protect her when they discover the danger imposed on Jenna. The women married to the men on the security team close in around her to add to her protection.

But Isaac will stop at nothing to eliminate the threat and protect the woman he's fallen for.

This novel was, in my opinion the best of the series. It shows how deeply the team is knitted together, and how strong the women are.

Jenna herself is an amazing woman who learns quickly. Though her reaction to what Isaac and the team offers is heartbreaking. Her growth and change over the course of the story is powerful.

The plot was fast-paced, which I love, and intense. It is a romantic suspense novel, so if it wasn't intense, it wouldn't live up to the series. World building is always fantastic with Ms. Banks, so suspension of disbelief stayed intact throughout the series.

A sixth book was planned about the Devereaux brothers' sister who was kidnapped in the first novel. However, it was postponed indefinitely.
