Review of One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress Universe #8) by Jeaniene Frost

One Grave at a Time is book six in the Night Huntress series and book eight in the Night Huntress Universe.

Now that Cat and Bones have averted a war among the undead, they discover that the gift from the voodoo queen of New Orleans has far-reaching effects.

A vow to help another person leads Cat and Bones on an unusual mission.

Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter in life, and now in death he takes physical form every Halloween to torture women and burn them alive. Cat and Bones must stop him and send him beyond the grave—permanently.

This was a fascinating novel, a very different kind of villain with a very different set of challenges. It was engrossing and interesting within the world Jeaniene Frost constructed.

The world building once again was flawless. She built the ability for Kramer to solidify each Halloween and the way to defeat him perfectly within her universe. I loved the new information—and the sweet love story that emerged between surprising characters.

As always, the plot sped along in a way that drew me into another glued-to-my-e-reader session. I keep reading these books in a day or two, sometimes in one long reading session that I only break up to eat. It's fun and I love that the books elicit this from me.

Another solid addition to a great series.
