Review of Motorcycle Man (Dream Man #4) by Kristen Ashley
Motorcycle Man is the fourth book in the series Dream Man.
Tyra Masters quit her job to get away from toxic drama and is now about to start her new job as the office manager of Ride, the mechanic shop and store owned by the Chaos Motorcycle Club. She parties with the club the Saturday night before she starts and finds herself in Tack's bed. He's her dream man, and it's not the tequila or incredible sex talking. But then, Tack kicks her out of bed and she slinks home, not looking forward to seeing him on Monday.
Kane "Tack" Allen, president of the Chaos MC, never sleeps with his employees. So as soon as he realizes he's slept with his new office manager, he fires her. She goes toe-to-toe with him and fights for her job. He agrees to let her keep it. She gives him sass and attitude at every turn, which he likes immensely. Soon, she's more than he can resist.
This was my favorite of the Dream Man series. This may actually be my favorite Kristen Ashley book. Thankfully, there's a spinoff series of this book called Chaos about members of the motorcycle club. I've checked out the first book from the library!
I really liked both Tack and Tyra. Tyra was spunky and feisty, but she was also soft and wounded. Tack was hard and could be an asshole, a good dad in a strange way, and at times very sweet and gentle with Tyra. They made a good pair, a visual opposites attract but not in personality. They were a pleasure to read about.
Kristen Ashley's descriptions are always vivid, but she doesn't go overboard. They're efficient, not excessive, and convey good visuals. I had a good vision of Ride and the Chaos compound as well as both Tyra and Tack's houses. Action, including the sex, was well mapped and clear. I always knew where I was and what was happening.
Dialog was fantastic. Each character spoke their own way and I could tell who was speaking by reading the words, not just by the tags. My only complaint is Kristen Ashley's women rarely have accents and the men usually have the same accent—not all, but most.
The story itself wasn't action packed, but it had more than I expected. It was thrilling, funny, and tender making it an absorbing read. I couldn't put it down!
I would highly recommend this book, and the series, to anyone who loves romance.
