Canopy Beauty

This photo is from a hike at the forest preserve in July of 2021. The day had been cloudy, causing a lot of issues with glare from the light, but the clouds cleared for a little while and I was able to take this shot of the canopy above us.

If you cannot tell, the canopy was over 100 feet over our heads, and the trees reached even higher as the fullness of their branches mixed with each other and sought the light. These trees are ancient, and the trees in this region of the world grow enormously tall. The sight is awe-inspiring and never fails to stun me with the beauty of it all.
