New Yarn! Review of Caron Cakes Yarn

Several years ago, I tried a yarn called Caron Cakes Sparkle Cakes, which was a self-striping yarn that also had flecks of color woven into the yarn. They no longer make that particular yarn, I believe, but there are a lot of other Caron Cakes yarn lines.

Caron Cakes are packaged in a particular way—they look like cakes. They are exclusive to Michaels Stores, and not even sold on the official Caron website, which is the larger website Yarnspirations.

I've been dying to try more of these yarns for years, but they aren't cheap. My husband got a bonus from the company he works for, so I decided to try a few of these yarns because there was a pretty good sale if they were purchased online, so I purchased them online and my husband picked them up at the store later that day.

The yarns I got were super cute and have been very fun to knit with. I completed a scarf with the first yarn, Caron Cakes Cinnamon Swirl Cakes in springtime, and I was having so much fun with the stripes and pattern that I accidentally made the scarf an incredible seven feet long! I'll share photos soon.

The second yarn I bought is Caron Cakes Latte Cakes in blackberry (left) and blueberry (right), which is silky soft and has an eyelash component. It's fun to use, and I'm currently making a scarf. The stripes are quite long compared to the Cinnamon Swirl Cakes, but they are still fun. I'm having a good time.

Overall, I'm very happy with these yarns, and I will continue to buy them as often as I can afford them.
