Review of There's Something About Ari (Bluewater Bay #2) by L. B. Gregg

There's Something About Ari is book two in the Bluewater Bay series.

Warning: gay romance with erotic scenes.

Buck Ellis's future was bright until the death of his mother, leaving him the guardian of his younger brother Charlie. Now his future seems permanently on hold. He can't afford distractions if he's to keep his brother on track to go places Buck didn't.

Ari Valentine was Buck's friend for ten years, and his secret love. But Ari left Bluewater Bay without a goodbye before graduation.

One day, someone buys the house next door to Buck. He's astonished to find his new neighbor is Ari. Even more shocking is Ari coming out to him.

Ari's return is prompted by his casting in the show Wolf's Landing, but the person he's really trying to impress is Buck.

I found this story a little predictable, more so than most romance novels I've read. The end is usually expected—the lovers eventually get together—but the path there should be unexpected. Here it was not unexpected. The characters were underdeveloped for my taste with Buck defined by Charlie and Ari, not by Buck himself.

While I love the tropes of friends to lovers and second chances, this one didn't really do it for me.
