Adventures in Cat Ownership: O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
When I was growing up, we had a cat who loved the bows you get that stick on to the wrapping paper like a sticker. Christmas was her favorite day of the year because she could amass a large amount of bows to play soccer with, and would tolerate having several bows stuck on her fur just because we let her keep them. She loved these bows so much that she would pull them off the presents and run off with them. One time a bow was stuck on a small, light present and she ran off with the whole present when she took the bow!
A cat that I had until about 18 months ago liked to steal ornaments off the tree while I was sleeping. I would get up to find the glass ball ornaments strewn about the living room. I had to count the number of ornaments as I put them on the tree, and count them when I got up every morning. Fortunately I have a small tree and it was not difficult.
Christmas brings cats much delight with the new things around the house. There is much to play with, climb, and destroy. It is a wonderful time of the year.
