Book Review: Of Neptune (Syrena Legacy #3) by Anna Banks

Of Neptune is the third book in the series Syrena Legacy.

Before Emma and Galen become mated, they decide to take a trip to get away from the ocean for a while, following Emma's grandfather's directions to a town called Neptune in the American Midwest.

Much to Galen's shock and Emma's delight, it's a community of Syrena and humans living in harmony. The town is full of half-breeds, and Emma, who has felt so isolated near the oceans, feels completely at home. There's even a self-appointed, very eager tour guide to introduce her and Galen to the town, Reed. When Galen leaves to tell his brother, the Triton king, about Neptune, Reed decides to make his own play for Emma.

Not all is as it seems in Neptune, and when Galen disappears without a trace, Emma enlists the help of the town to find him.

This book was very different from the other two, though it allows the trilogy to come full circle and have Emma be the uniting factor in the Syrena world. It was a very satisfying conclusion to the series, though it was a much slower read for me. It took several days to make my way through instead of several hours.

I did enjoy the book and the series. I liked that the books varied in subject though they remained consistent with the Syrena world instead of changing the world as it suited the author.
