Book Review: Of Triton (Syrena Legacy #2) by Anna Banks
Of Triton is the second book in the series Syrena Legacy.
Emma, meanwhile, is an abomination in the Syrena world. Relationships with humans are forbidden and her very existence breaks Syrena law. However, Emma possesses a rare gift of Poseidon that has the potential to unite the Syrena world, if they can get past her status as a half-breed. When the Syrena world rocks with political intrigue, Emma must decide whether to risk disobeying Galen's request to stay out of the water, and stay out of the unrest, to be a uniting factor and prove to the Syrena world that she has a true gift of Poseidon.
The book did not disappoint except in that it was very short. I read it in about three hours. There were times where Anna Banks mentioned that things had happened between Emma and Galen where I wanted to know exactly what had happened. As a writer, I want to yell, "Don't tell me they had intimate afternoons on this couch! Show me those afternoons so I can experience them too!" The book was short enough to allow some extra scenes, but alas, those smooches are left to our imagination, or trapped in Ms. Banks's imagination, however you want to look at it.
Tension was upped for this second book and I enjoyed the political strife that rocked the Syrena world. It was more of the same from the first book in a good way while developing the plot further for a second installment. I really enjoyed the read.
