Review of Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy #1) by Maya Banks
Colters' Woman introduces us to the Colter family followed in the series Colter's Legacy.
Warning: polygamous relationship and explicit sex.
The three Colter brothers—Adam, Ethan, and Ryan—have always known they wanted a relationship like their parents and grandparents. They would all marry the same woman.
They built a life together, waiting for their woman to come along. But no one catches the attention of all three brothers.
Until Adam finds Holly unconscious in a snowbank in the Rocky Mountains. He takes her home to help assure her safety, and all three brothers have an instant desire to protect and cherish her. But will Holly be willing to dive into such a complex relationship?
And what about the past she's running from?
The characters aren't too complex, but they're passionate and loving. Maya Banks has a tendency to switch point of view without warning, which can be a little dizzying to keep track of who's in charge at the moment. As a writer myself, I'm always very clear about whose thoughts I'm writing in, and that's the way I prefer it as a reader. But Ms. Banks's stories are compelling enough that I'm willing to overlook it when I might not in other authors.
The sex is graphic and steamy, and a few times involved all three brothers in a non-incestuous manner.
I'm a sucker for the damsel in distress trope, but I want the damsel to save herself in the end. This is the type of story Maya Banks specializes in.
