Mental illness, true mental illness, has a bad wrap. There are many myths, runors, and wrong ideas that float around, and it's important to set the record straight.
It's also common now for people to claim mental illnesses in passing for different purposes, like someone saying they have OCD because they're neat, saying "that's so bipolar" when someone has trouble deciding, or someone seeing something that brings up bad memories saying "this is giving me PTSD." Things like that are immensely frustrating for those of us who have the illnesses being claimed. They perpetuate misinformation.
