Variegated Washcloths!

I finally finished the washcloths my husband has been begging for. About once a week he's asked about them, and I've just told him, "I'm working on them!" But they are done!

I really like the way they turned out, and some of the color pooling turned out to make very interesting patterns. Unlike most yarn crafters, I like color pooling. That's when colors randomly clump together as you work. I think it can make interesting patterns, like in these socks I made a few years ago.

The washcloths are made with Lily Sugar'n Cream cotton yarn in cool breeze ombre. I picked the stitch patterns from the book The New Crochet Stitch Dictionary.

Four skeins wound up making eleven washcloths. I was hoping for an even twelve, but there wasn't quite enough. All the same, it should be plenty of washcloths for us. My husband was thrilled when I showed them to him.

Crocheted washcloths made with 100% cotton yarn can be washed in hot water with towels, and they grow soft with washing and are gentler than regular washcloths. I highly recommend them, and my husband doesn't ever want to use any other kind of washcloth again.

I'm excited to use the washcloths after our next laundry day, and so is my husband.
