Art Mastery

Over the last few years, I've developed a taste for a new hobby or art to master.

I've been cross-stitching since the mid-90s, knitting since 2005, and crocheting since 2010. I started writing in early 2016. Slowly over the last nine years or so, I've found myself drawn more and more to photography. Specifically nature photography.

I used just my cell phone for many years, but the cameras on my cell phones have been crap because I get cheap phones (as in under $100 USD). So, two years ago, we bought an inexpensive digital camera for me to be able to take nicer photos. And they are a lot better.

Still, I managed to capture some great shots with my phone camera, like this one.

This is one of my favorite shots I've taken, a path in a local forest preserve my husband and I like to go for hikes several times a year.

I've spent the last four years or so trying to learn how to frame photos better and use natural lighting to my advantage. I've learned a lot and gotten much better. It's been fun to explore and experiment, but I would love to take a class sometime. Learn more about photography.

And maybe, just maybe, one day I can get a nice camera. That would be wonderful.

I plan to start sharing my photos, so I hope you like them. Keep in mind, I am still learning, and teaching myself.

Happy spring to everyone in the northern hemisphere. Enjoy nature blossoming again!
