Growing Like Weeds

This is a photo I took on our hike this year for the fall equinox. Moss and ferns grow everywhere here, almost like weeds. My aunt and uncle's yard was mostly moss, which made it squishy and soft, but not normal grass.

Here, you can see moss spreading across an open space and ferns covering the rest.
