Review of One Perfect Kiss (Hope #8) by Jaci Burton

One Perfect Kiss is the eighth and final book in the Hope series.

Josie Barnes is new to Hope, and she's finding the sense of home she's craved. She's making friends, taking in unwanted animals, working as an English teacher at the local high school, and flirting with the football coach. Things seem too good to be true, and Josie knows those things never last.

Zach Powers is a former pro-football player, forced to retire after a career-ending injury. Now he coaches football in Hope. He has friends, but is guarded. The first person to break through is Josie. He opens himself like never before, but Josie still holds back.

Zach has to convince her that what they have is real, and he's not leaving.

This book was okay. The series kept slipping in quality as it progressed. I liked Josie, but Zach was okay. I did like his beef with Josie's nightmarish cat. That was funny.

I did understand why Zach would seem too good to be true to Josie considering her backstory and Zach's personality and situation in life. I probably would have thought the same.

The dialog was fairly realistic, but again her descriptions were lacking. Zach's house was described okay, but Josie's was not, and even after eight books I still don't have a good picture of Hope. The characters were better at the beginning of the series. Just everything slid down in quality after midway through the series.

It was a lighthearted, forgettable story that I liked reading but won't pick up again.
