At the Dock
As the photographer, I have the power to guide the viewer into seeing where I am in a particular way. This park on the shores of Puget Sound is not actually in the middle of nowhere like I try to make it appear. It's actually in the middle of the largest city in the county, is mostly a large, mowed area, and has a playground, tennis court, basketball court, and walking path. But I can make you, the consumer, see only what I want you to see, which is the tiny portion of the park between the developed areas and the beach where the plants grow wild.
This dock is actually blocked off. It's unsafe--most of the planks are either rotted or missing. But it looks great in photos and random people don't ruin the shots!
