Genie in a Bottle

 As I have been working on my latest draft, I discovered my character loves 90s and 2000s pop and pop rock. So, I gathered a bunch of songs from that era, and since the late 90s were my teenage years, I remember a lot of the big hits.

This is one that I remember as catchy and danceable in my bedroom, but I didn't have a clue what it was about. At that time, I didn't really care what the subjects of songs were, only that they were fun—from shock rock to *NSYNC. Even if I knew all the lyrics, it never connected.

It wasn't until over a decade later that I learned what Christina was actually singing about.

This song has been back on my radar due to my new novel, and it made its way into the novel itself. Ever since then, it's popped into my head regularly.

I love the 90s.
