Piper Purse!
One of my very favorite knitting designers is Louisa Harding. This purse is from her book Knitting Little Luxuries. For my review of this book, click here. The pattern is "Piper Purse" and the sample is knitted with yarn from Louisa Harding's own line of yarn. This purse was knitted in Lily 'n' Cream cotton yarn.
This is easily my favorite purse and unless I want a smaller bag for whatever reason, this is my go-to purse. It holds everything I need and I get a lot of compliments on it. The handle is constructed with wooden beads with red and tan painted designs, giving it a wonderful detailed finish. The pattern itself was challenging for me, but yielded beautiful results. The knitting is turned onto it's side, then stitches picked up along a side edge to form the top of the purse giving it an unusual appearance.
The first two photos show the pattern, and the third is more true to the bright red color of the yarn.
