Review of Colters' Lady (Colters' Legacy #2) by Maya Banks
Colters' Lady is book two in the Colters' Legacy series.
Warning: polygamy and explicit sex.
Holly Colter has three sons: Seth, Michael, and Dillon. None of them planned to have the same type of relationship as the three generations before them.
Until they meet Lily.
Seth meets Lily while he's volunteering at a soup kitchen in Denver and is astonished to discover she's homeless. He feels possessive and protective, wanting nothing but to make sure she's safe and loved. While giving her shelter at his home, his brother Michael arrives and feels the same.
Confused as to what to do, they take her home to the mountain where they grew up to give her shelter and protection. There she meets Dillon. He has the same reaction.
The brothers need to decide if two are willing to let her go or if they want to follow the path of the Colter men before them. And Lily must decide if she wants all three.
It was interesting to see the brothers deciding what kind of relationship they wanted instead of how it was at the beginning of Colter's Woman where they already knew.
Lily isn't as strong of a woman as Holly so I didn't like her quite as much. Holly kicked ass and took names, but Lily just quietly confronted the man who hurt her. That takes courage, but it wasn't like it was with Holly.
I liked these brothers better than their fathers. They felt more developed and more real. Their love for Lily also felt more real, possibly because of the combination of better character development and their decision about the relationship being prompted by Lily. They all made sacrifices to be with her while their fathers didn't with Holly.
All of that contributed to improve the plot which I don't think is as strong as Colter's Woman. So this book was up and down with how good or bad it is. I liked the first book better, but I did enjoy this one quite a bit.
