Review of Torrent (River of Time #3) by Lisa T. Bergren

Torrent is the third book in the young adult Christian series River of Time.

The Ladies Bertarrini have traveled to the future and jumped back to a summer where Gabi and Lia's parents were at a dig near the time tunnel. They convinced their father, who was still alive at that time, to follow them back through time.

Bringing their father to Marcello's time means they cannot go back to their own time for fear he would die again.

Marcello is shocked to meet the man he was told had died, but he sees the opportunity to ask for Gabi's hand properly.

However, Gabi's status as Marcello's bethrothed along with being a She-Wolf of Siena has those loyal to Firenzie eager to "tame" her and claim her for their own as a blow to both Siena and Marcello. Gabi and Lia have a price on their heads to be brought back alive, and they come face to face with an old enemy.

The list of characters expands significantly in this book, and some enemies may be allies.

The dangers Gabi faces in this novel had me more drawn in than the previous two books, reading the entire book in two days. She proves herself a fighter and strong young woman, not to be trifled with.

The entrance of the girls' father brought both joy and complication, and their reunion with him brought tears to my eyes.

My one wish was to see how it would play out between Luca and Lia.

The scope of this book was far greater than the first two, and it made for a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, though there are two novellas and another novel afterward.

Another incredible volume in a wonderful series.
