Review of Selfie (Bluewater Bay #13) by Amy Lane

Selfie is book thirteen is the Bluewater Bay series.

Connor Montgomery lost the love of his life one year ago. His relationship with Vinnie was secret as they were both actors and feared the repercussions if they were to come out. The only person that knows about their relationship is their agent.

On the anniversary of Vinnie's death, Connor makes a drunken confession video and posts it on YouTube. Fortunately, it was silent.

Connor, with the encouragement of his agent, dives back into work after taking a year off. He takes the first casting offer, a role on the show Wolf's Landing. He relocates to Bluewater Bay, relieved to escape the house that's filled with memories of Vinnie.

He's assigned a driver and assistant, Noah Dakers. As Connor leans on Noah in his grief, the two draw closer. Connor cannot hide his truth from Noah, and as romance blossoms, Connor must let Vinnie go in order to find a new life.

This book was incredible. The depth of grief brought me to tears so many times. Connor's struggle to adjust to life without Vinnie and accept his growing attraction to Noah was both hopeful and heartbreaking.

This was my second book by Amy Lane, and she did not disappoint. I cried and cheered for Connor, sometimes separately and sometimes together. The way he experienced grief was described in a way that made me feel as though I was grieving with him.

An incredible book filled with realistic characters, and Connor's memories of Vinnie brought him to life in my mind as I grieved with Connor. I didn't expect such an impactful novel, and it has won a place among my list of favorite books.
